Humble Beginnings
In reflecting on the path that has led me to where I am today, I am reminded of the power inherent in humble beginnings. It is often within the unassuming confines of such origins that individuals discover the drive to transcend limitations and capture the attention of the world. The narrative of progress, from modest roots to significant achievements, is a tale woven into the fabric of history, and one that continues to unfold.

My personal journey, which began in circumstances that many would describe as humble, has been marked by an unwavering determination to succeed. This determination, fostered by the values instilled in me during my early years, has been a driving force behind my professional growth. As I assumed the role of CEO at enov8tive, I couldn't help but see my journey as an adventure that has unfolded with unexpected success. This trajectory has been a testament to the transformative potential nestled within unassuming origins, and I am continually humbled by the experiences that have shaped my professional ascent.
Learning Humility
I come from Manila, Philippines, a city that pulses with life, dreams, and an unyielding spirit. Growing up amidst the vibrant chaos of the capital, I witnessed the commanding force of money and the allure of fame. Yet, within the confines of a modest, close-knit community, I found myself captivated by a fervent desire to unearth my true calling and wholeheartedly commit myself to its pursuit.
My family's journey was one marked by resilience and tenacity. My father, while juggling the demands of supporting our family, embarked on an inspiring pursuit of education, selling "turon," a beloved Filipino snack, in the spirited streets of Manila. A beacon of determination, he tirelessly attended classes by day and hustled to sell turon by night. Meanwhile, my mother ran a small grocery store, where I eagerly lent a hand in any way I could. I vividly remember the hours spent helping her manage inventory, repackage bulk goods, and serve our loyal customers, many of whom, like us, navigated life with limited means.
These formative experiences instilled in me an enduring sense of humility and gratitude. They taught me to find value in life's simplest blessings, from having a roof over our heads to sharing meals together and the opportunity to carve out a living for our family. This upbringing served as a profound lesson in empathy and resourcefulness, shaping my character and approach to both life and business.
In recounting these moments, I aim to share a piece of my journey, not only as a testament to the strength and resilience that we all carry within us but also as a reminder that success is not solely measured in material wealth. It is found in the enduring human spirit, in the ability to adapt, to empathize, and to forge ahead, driven by a relentless pursuit of purpose and fulfillment.
Learning Resourcefulness, Creativity and Innovation
Growing up in hardship, my parents' creativity and resourcefulness shaped my outlook on life. Despite our financial constraints, they ensured we had a semblance of normalcy by using local bread and sugar to create simple, delightful treats. Their ingenuity taught me to value the little things and sparked my own creativity from a young age.
While other kids played with expensive toys, we couldn't afford such luxuries. Instead, I crafted my own paper dolls from magazine cutouts, using sticky rice as glue. This experience not only filled my days with joy but also ignited my resourcefulness and innovation. I learned to see possibilities where others saw limitations.
With three siblings, we turned to our imaginations for entertainment. Toys were rare, so we invented our own games and adventures. As our situation improved, we cherished the toys we finally had, treating them as precious collectibles.
This upbringing instilled in me a deep sense of resourcefulness, creativity, and innovation. These qualities have been instrumental in my journey to success, allowing me to approach challenges with a fresh perspective and find inventive solutions. I believe that my humble beginnings have given me a unique advantage, fostering a mindset that values creativity and resilience. I've learned that success isn't just about the resources you have, but how resourceful and creative you can be with what you have.
Learning Resilience, Vision, and Purpose
Despite facing cultural, financial, and familial challenges, my parents were unwavering in their determination to secure an education for us. My father's ascent from being a street vendor, to a college graduate and eventually to an accomplished Executive and my mother's dedication as a homemaker set the stage for our uninterrupted education, free from the need to work to support the family. Witnessing their relentless pursuit of a better life instilled in me a profound understanding of resilience, vision, and purpose.
Their journey taught me the value of quick recovery from hardships, emphasizing the importance of resilience. It also imparted the significance of having a clear vision and purpose in life. As I observed my parents labor tirelessly to provide for us, I learned to embody the 7C's: Competence, Confidence, Connection, Character, Contribution, Coping, and Control. These traits became ingrained in my being, shaping my approach to life's challenges and opportunities.
Today, I attribute much of my success to the lessons learned during those formative years. The resilience instilled in me has been a guiding force in navigating life's obstacles, while the vision and purpose cultivated within our family have provided direction and clarity. These values have not only propelled me forward but have also allowed me to contribute meaningfully to the world around me.
I believe that sharing these experiences can resonate with many, as we all face adversity in various forms. My journey is a testament to the transformative power of resilience, vision, and purpose, demonstrating that with these qualities, one can triumph over adversity and achieve personal and professional success.
